The Columbus Ohio Chapter of National Black Nurses Association(CBNA) is a non- profit professional organization of registered nurses, licensed practical / vocational nurses, and nursing students who contribute to improving the quality of life of persons who share the African American heritage and other ethnic groups by:
Investigating, defining and advocating for their health care needs
Educating and mentoring registered nurses, licensed practical/vocational nurses and nursing students, high school and future nursing students
Promoting economic development of nurses through entrepreneurial and other business initiatives
Building consumer knowledge and understanding of health care issues
Implementing strategies that ensure access to health care equal to or above health care standards of the larger united States society
Facilitating the professional development and career advancement of nurses in the emerging health care systems.
